  1. Hi Dana!! My name is Angie and I was reading April’s Essence Magazine and I came across the Color section of the issue and read,”Colorist, Dana Gibbs” and I’m like Dana Gibbs? There can only be one Dana Gibbs in the hair industry. So I go to your website and lo and behold, it’s you!! You used to do my hair and my mom’s hair (Dale) in Delaware from the late 80’s up until I graduated high school in 1994. We first went to you at Rochelle’s on Miller Road in Wilmington, then followed you to Sophisticuts, Shelly Hardin’s and even your home on Washington Street. You were my all time favorite hairdresser and to this day I haven’t found anyone who comes close to your style, customer service and client relation. I still have the book, “Assata,” you gave me for my graduation present. I so missed you when you moved to Atlanta and so did my hair. I would love to come to New York to your salon (and my friend, who wants to get color – she has Sista Locks). My hair is currently natural and I am growing it back out (it was down my back and I got sick of it, partly because I couldn’t find a good hairdresser and chopped it off..again). Once I have some length, I’m coming to NY to see you. I miss walking out the salon feeling like a million bucks or as you used to say, “Do that.” Congratulations on your accomplishments. May God continue to bless you and I look forward to seeing in the next six months or so.

  2. Dana!!

Hello, it’s Lana… I just found your site and I’m so proud of you!! I remember you saying you were working on your on line of hair products when I had the privilege of being one of your clients. Aafter I left NYC, I haven’t been able to find a decent stylist since and my hair is more of mess than when you first started working on it. You have my email, please contact me, or I’ll try to give you a call at the salon so I can set up an appt in the near future.

    Best wishes and again, Congratulations!!!
